The training recommended for this is the Level 3 Diploma in Kennel and Cattery Management.
Animal Welfare Officer or Inspector
Working as an Animal Welfare Officer is a rewarding career choice. It can be compared to working as a social worker for animals. As a Welfare officer you must identify animals at risk, assist local councils and animal charities with animal welfare problems, provide talks to schools and other organisations, and generally having a proactive approach to the prevention of cruelty to animals. Many animal welfare charities, local authorities and other organisations now employ Animal Welfare Officers.
The Ofqual regulated qualification required for this role is the Level 3 Diploma Animal Welfare Officer.
