Online training negates the need for travel or overnight accommodation in many cases and also allows access to overseas students.

The teaching for this unit ensures your learning meets the assessment criteria for the qualification

You will still learn skills that will enable you to:

  • Analyse potential gait problems by analysing canine movement
  • Create a connection with an individual dog
  • Handle using force and fear-free methods
  • Assess the correct method of training for a particular dog
  • Teach loose lead walking

  • Undertake critical analysis of training
  • Demonstrate reflective practice

Applied Canine Behaviour Management 

 

The Ofqual approved Level 6 qualification for working as a qualified Canine Behaviourist. 

 

Consists of 4 parts split into 37 theory units and  includes 10 intensive practical training days.

 

Total Qualification Time (TQT): 1,776 hours.

 

This qualification is equivalent to a degree with honours - ie, Bachelor of the Arts (BA) Hons, bachelor of science (BSc) Hons.

 

The qualification meets the Defra Higher Standard Animal Activities Licensing (AAL) requirements.

Applied Canine Behaviour Management Course 



Graduates who complete the Level 6 qualification can apply for membership to:


The Association of INTODogs - as a full member - Certified Canine Behaviourist. As a full member of INTODogs, students have accredited Canine Behaviourist status 


Graduates who are members of the Association of  INTO Dogs  can apply to the International Companion Animal Network (ICAN) and  gain accredited Animal Behaviourist status.


Graduates can also gain professional membership of the Pet Professional Guild.


Students enrolled on this Ofqual regulated qualification are eligible to apply for a TOTUM Student Card

Canine Behaviour Course 


This package combines 4 Ofqual regulated qualifications consisting  of theory and practical training. The theory is studied online with full tutor support, on an interactive learning platform (Moodle). With practical training interspersed throughout the course students gain valuable experience with a variety of dogs; this training is highly enjoyable and an essential part of the qualification. 


This Level 6 qualification is regulated & officially recognised by Ofqual. Ofqual ensures qualification validity, quality and that the stated Level is correct by qualification standards.  


Undertaking an Ofqual regulated qualification provides assurance that the training is an officially recognised and regulated.  As this is an Ofqual regulated qualification, students can be assured that this Level 6 qualification is equivalent to a degree with honours - for example, Bachelor of the Arts (BA) Hons, bachelor of science (BSc) Hons.
