The iPET Network Level 3 Award for Educators in the Canine and Feline Sector is an Ofqual Regulated Qualification has been developed to become an effective teacher in the animal care sector.

This qualification allows students to become an effective educator and will provide tools to be able to confidently create a successful learning environment for adults in training.

On completion of this unit you will:

Unit # 3

Facilitate and deliver effective teaching to meet the needs of learners within a canine and feline environment

On completion of this unit you will:

  • Learn methods used that support learning objectives
  • Discover how constructive feedback can be used effectively
  • Facilitate learning development groups with canines and felines
  • Learn about personal learning and development planning

Assessments

As this course is provided through distance learning, you will complete the work and assessments online. When studying this qualification, you will be asked to show your knowledge and provide evidence of your studies to your designated tutor.

There are mandatory assignments, where you will demonstrate your understanding and will be assessed through a variety of tasks. These are designed to ensure you understand the learning outcomes of each unit.

You will also be tasked to deliver a 15-minuite microteaching session that is observed, recorded, and assessed by the tutor. For this session, and to pass the assessment, you will need to facilitate and deliver effective teaching within a Canine and Feline environment.

Requirements for entry

This course is open for all to study, providing that students are at least 18 years of age. No prior experience or qualifications are required.
The qualification includes a practical 15-minute microteaching session. Where you will get the opportunity to apply your learning.
The total number of hours of study in this Qualification is 60 (TQT) hours and enrolment will be valid for 2 years.
