This unit explores how to reduce stress for animals and how to empower staff and volunteers to prevent, recognise and respond to animal aggression in order to minimise bite risks.

This unit contains comprehensive information about adopting an animal, microchips, the importance of neutering, controlling parasites, vaccinations, nutrition, exercise, grooming, enrichment, lost and found animals and necessary information about animal medication.

This is an extensive 12 unit course as it is crucial to have a thorough understanding of a variety of other subjects essential for the smooth running of an animal charity. This course includes a 1 or 2 week optional practical at at the Cheltenham Animal Shelter in Gloucestershire.
